Student robbed off campus

A Duke University student living in an apartment complex off campus reported being robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday.
The student, a 21-year-old senior, was not injured in the incident at 929 Morreene Rd.
He told police he was standing in the parking lot of Partner’s Place apartments at 1:05 a.m. when three men approached him, said Duke police Lt. Sara-Jane Raines. One of the men brandished a tarnished silver revolver and took the student’s laptop, wallet, cell phone and PDA.
The men left the apartment complex in a gold or champagne-colored, older model vehicle. The incident is being investigated by the Durham Police Department.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Durham Police at 560-4427; or Durham CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases. Callers may remain anonymous.
