On January 29, the Women’s Center opened its newly renovated doors in Few Quadrangle after a temporary stay on Central Campus during the Few renovation.
"Being back on West is great," Ada Gregory, director of the Women's Center, said. "The revamped space allows us to do so much more with students and other departments. We hope that everyone will enjoy the changes."
“The space looks wonderful and I look forward to seeing it filled with students,” said Donna Lisker, Ph.D., associate dean of undergraduate education.
The new center features a common area, a library, computers and student work stations that were already occupied by students, and scattered with textbooks, book bags and laptops. Faculty, staff and students gathered to celebrate the opening of the renovated space and welcome the group back to the West Campus.
“I think students can come here, feel safe, relax and just feel comfortable to talk to whoever is here,” said Lisa Deng ’12, who after attending a women’s retreat for first year students, plans to take advantage of all the amenities and programming the center has to offer.
Women’s center student volunteer Evelyn Ku ’09, added, “It’s good to be back on the main campus and feel like we’re more involved and we can be reached easier.”
