Apple Bake


--4 large red apples, cored
--8 oz. can unsweetened, crushed pineapple
--1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
--1/8 tsp. ground cardamom
--1 ½ tsp. white sugar
--1 Tbs. brown sugar
--2 Tbs. walnuts, finely chopped


1. Slice apples in ¼ inch pieces and layer in a 9-inch square baking pan.

2. Drain pineapple, reserving juice, and evenly distribute pineapple over apples.

3. Mix together cinnamon, cardamom, and sugars. Sprinkle over fruit then pour reserved pineapple juice over spices.

4. Sprinkle walnuts over fruit and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Serve hot or cold.
