Chickpea Dip
Ingredients
--3 cloves fresh garlic
--¼ C plain low-fat yogurt
--1Tbs. fresh lemon juice
--1 Tsp. olive oil
--¼ Tsp. salt
--¼ Tsp. paprika
--1/8 Tsp. black pepper
--1 (19oz ) can chickpeas, drained
Directions
1. Place all ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
2. Serve with cut up fresh vegetables and/or whole wheat pita chips. (nutrition information below is for the dip only)
Note: Although calorie and fat content may appear to be high for dips and sauces, the key is to remember that a dip or sauce is rarely eaten alone. Once you calculate in some fresh vegetables or whole grain bread the meal percentages will balance out nicely.
