CONSULTING FIRMS CHANGE STRATEGY AND INTERNSHIP RECRUITING TIMELINE

Due to industry demand and a shift in recruiting trends, many consulting firms will now begin internship recruiting on college campuses during the 2016 fall semester.   This is a change from the past when internship recruitment was limited to later, in the spring semester.  Because of this change, students interested in consulting, will begin interviewing for internships three to five months earlier, in September. 

The Career Center is committed to helping you prepare for fall internship recruitment by offering workshops and resources focused on the consulting industry.  These sessions and materials will be developed and added throughout late summer/early fall semester and will be customized based upon the needs of Duke's undergraduate and graduate students.  You will find the most up-to-date information regarding workshop availability in CareerConnections, by searching Career Events.

Some important dates to remember:
Employer Information Sessions begin September 6
Fall Career Fair is September 14
On-Campus Interviews begin September 19

Advising appointments
   Current students can view availability and book appointments online in CareerConnections, from the left navigation on your home page (this is new!).
Consulting email list
      Undergraduates can subscribe today in CareerConnections, in your profile under "Additional Information" to get information about case Interviews and preparation. You will learn more about what consulting is and we will also keep you informed about the application process and how you can prepare.
Career Fair Prep Workshop
   Provided to assist undergraduate and graduate students in taking advantage of upcoming career fairs and interacting with employers in consulting and across all industries.

     Schedule an appointment in CareerConnections, to discuss interview prep, when you are ready for a mock interview, you will be able to schedule an hour-long appointment to practice.
