Black History Month Dinner

Join us for a special evening at Marketplace in celebration of Black History Month! Planned in coordination with the Mary Lou Williams Center for Black Culture, this dinner event is centered on this year's Black History Month theme--Black Migrations.

Black History Month Dinner
Marketplace
February 6th, 2019
5pm-9pm

The inspiration for this year's menu was the cookbook from Sweet Home Café, which is housed in the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.  The cookbook showcases African American contributions to American cuisine, and our menu is structured on both the regions represented in the book--Agricultural South, Northern States, Western Range, and Creole Coast--and draws additional inspiration from black-owned soul food restaurants around the USA. The night's menu, created especially for this event by our Executive Chef, seeks to serve lively variations inspired by these sources, while also accommodating a variety of dietary needs.

Learn more about Black History Month, the museum, and the foods being featured at the event, and don't miss your chance to win a copy of the cookbook in the evening's drawing as well!

We hope you will join us!

Black History Month is an annual month-long celebration of Black history, cultural, the myriad contributions and accomplishments of people of African descent. The celebration lasts for the entirety of February.
