Employer Spotlight: Conversation with Arthrex, Inc.

Recently I had a conversation with Alyssa, the recruiter at Arthrex, and here is a snippet of the insight I gained from our discussion.

Monique/Duke Career Center: What was your major in college? How did you explore getting into your current position and/or through your career path?

Alyssa/Arthrex: I graduated with a major in Communications/PR and a minor in Marketing. I obtained a Recruiting Internship at Arthrex in 2013 and was promoted to full-time! January 2020 will be my seventh year with Arthrex.

Career Center: How would you briefly describe your company's culture? 

Arthrex: The company culture at Arthrex is my favorite topic to discuss with others. I personally like to describe Arthrex as a successful, collaborative and fun company where employees are treated very well and recognized. The working environment truly has a family/friendly feel! Career Center: What is the best advice you would give to students when networking, and other helpful application tips?

Arthrex: Students should research the company they are interested in before approaching an individual at a networking event. They should also be prepared to ask questions. While reviewing resumes, our recruitment staff looks for extracurricular activities or any campus involvement, prior employment history and technical abilities. Before submitting an application, it's important to know what the position entails including job requirements and responsibilities. It's best to target your resume to the position you are applying for.
