As a senior reflecting on my four years at Duke, I’ve embarked on a lot of adventures. I picked up a minor I never expected, lived experiences which completely changed my perspective, and decided on a career path that I didn’t even realize existed four years ago. So here’s a short bucket list to guide you in your exploration of all Duke has to offer.
In honor of National Women's History Month the Marketplace team has created a menu that is a collection of recipes from a variety of women's suffrage cookbooks. The cookbooks were created as both a fundraising and political tool, but also provided a powerful voice communicating to women not only about food and the ideals of home and family life, but also about women's right to vote. Please note that the menu items below list the names of the historical women that created them.

No matter where college students are living and learning, the COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted daily life. As a result, the well-being and mental health of students is of keen interest to parents, families, and universities worldwide. Between November 1 and 16, 2020, the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) Research team invited all Duke undergraduates to share their experiences with academics, social relationships, stress, mental health, and well-being during the fall semester, and 1,015 students responded (15.4% response rate). To provide context and a point of comparison for student responses during COVID-19, we drew on data from previous research conducted at Duke during more typical times.

Shrey Majmudar: Thank you so much for having me. I'm super excited to be on.
Grace Sullivan: Shrey could you just start by introducing yourself. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Picking a major is an exciting part of your college career! It is one of the first big decisions you make when getting to school. Some students know exactly what they will major in when applying to college whereas others want to explore a variety of departments before choosing.
With a land area of ~603,600 sq mi, Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe after Russia. It’s bordered by Russia, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova. The geography of Ukraine includes the Carpathian and Crimean mountain ranges, the steppes that run from Hungary to Manchuria in the east, and the Black Sea which lies alongside its southeastern border. Kyiv, the capital city that’s home to over 2.8 million inhabitants, is located in north-central Ukraine on the Dnieper river.
No matter who you are, the past year has been one of critical change, challenge, and reevaluation as we all have had to contend with the stress and strife of a global pandemic, toxic political climate, enduring racism, and yes, continuing to manage our day-to-day lives.
