As a new academic year begins, we all begin to set expectations and goals for ourself in the upcoming year. Whether a new or returning student, you've probably already started thinking about what this semester can hold. As you go forward, we in the Wellness Center encourage you to consider one question:

What's Your True Blue?

We all have times where we have to make choices.  "True Blue" can mean thinking about who you are and what you value, it can mean thinking about your Duke experience and what you want it to be, or it might just mean considering how you plan to stay true to your goals and authentic self as you navigate your college experience.

The form is available as part of the Common Application and must be filled out by your high school counselor.

Hey all!  My name is Jeff Day and I am a rising Sophomore here at Duke University who is an Electrical and Computer Engineering major with a possible Math double major or minor.  First of all I would like to welcome the Class of 2016 to Duke!  You are truly in for the ride of your life and I hope you come to appreciate this unique place as much as I have over the past year.  Although I am a very recent addition to the True Blue cast (found out I was going to be in it about two weeks ago) I was really excited to be able to go back to Duke early to be a meaningful part of O-week.  I just finishe </body></html>

Today is the day of all days. Today is the day I find out if I got accepted into Duke University.     What a rush! It is 8 a.m., and I run to my computer. As I open my email, I see that I have ONE     message in my inbox: the sender—DUKE UNIVERSITY. Should I open it? I was bombarded     with a flux of emotions. I was torn between the possible excitement of being accepted and the     potential disappointment of being rejected. But I HAD to check. Here goes nothing: click...     YES!!!!!! The email read:

    "Dear Stephanie Amador,
Congratulations! The Admissions Committee and I take great pleasure in offering you a place     in the Duke University Class of 2013…"

Hi! My name is Ayan and I am a rising senior. I am pre-law and majoring in Psychology and minoring in International Comparative studies with a focus on the Middle East. I was lucky enough to participate in the first ever Duke in the Arab World program and got to travel to Doha, Qatar and Cairo, Egypt this summer. It was HOT but I loved every second of my time abroad.

Hello Class of 2016! Congratulations on getting into Duke! I hope you are excited to starting school this fall because you have no idea what is coming your way! I realize that each school says their college offers a unique experience, but here, in the small town of Durham you will be living out the unique Duke experience, seriously. In the first month at Duke you will know what I am talking about.

Many clubs, activities, and opportunities await you at Duke. You can be involved with research, volunteering in the Durham community, participate in an organization that mirrors your passion, whatever it is you want to do, you can start here. Freshman year is a new beginning! With so many activities along with the school workload it can be easy to forget about your health.

My Blue Right of Passage

Hello my name is Jessie Lu, and I am a junior from Guangzhou, China. I major in Public Policy, minor in Psychology and have a Market Management Study Certificate.

“Oh, you go to DUKE!?!” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this remark since making the decision to spend four years of my life wandering around the Gothic Wonderland. Now, 3 years later and only two semesters away from joining all of the other “grown-ups” in the “real world,” I’m sitting on my bed, in a campus apartment, thinking about those hectic months leading up to my arrival on campus and the beginning of a new chapter in my life as I write this blog entry.
