Fraternity & Sorority Life has a new initiative this year! Embark: Fraternity & Sorority Potential New Member Orientation is a program design to introduce students to the benefits and responsibilities that come from joining a fraternity or sorority. Students interested in joining any fraternity or sorority at Duke were informed that participation in Embark is expected – either prior to joining, or during the semester of a student’s initiation. This fall, it includes four sessions, offered at varying times and days to accommodate class schedules.

Watch the 2016 College of Chapters mini-documentary starring one of Duke's own, Sigma Nu Commander, Matt Alston.

The event at the Phail Wynn Jr. Center was a philanthropy event to package 100,000 meals by hand for the needy in Durham. IFC joined in for this awesome initiative by providing ~200 members in a concerted effort to make an impact on MLK Day. This opportunity usually does not exist for us as MLK Day is Bids Day for IFC chapters.

The week delay on the Spring semester allowed a unique chance to reach out as an organization. All of our chapters are also engaged in their own philanthropic initiatives on campus, ranging from work at the Ronald McDonald House to supporting efforts to end adolescent AIDS.

October 2015
Dear Parents,

These initial months at Duke are a very exciting and likely stressful time as son/daughter are adjusting to college life.  Although it may have taken a few months, we hope that they have comfortably settled into life here at Duke and are truly experiencing the many opportunities that are afforded to them on campus.
