Duke Dining Announces Grand Openings of Three New Venues

Duke Dining will mark the opening of three new dining venues on campus with grand opening events, including free food, giveaways, and live music, during the first week of classes this fall. Dorian Bolden '02 will open Beyu Blue Coffee on Duke's campus in August.

Dorian Bolden, a 2002 Duke graduate and owner of downtown Durham's Beyu Caffè, will bring a special Blue Devil brand of Beyu to Duke's campus next month — Beyu Blue Coffee.

Welcome to the Duke family we are incredibly excited for the incoming Class of 2022! Each year we are thrilled to welcome your sons and daughters to Duke University, their energy and passion inspires our community.

Beginning my fourteenth year at Duke, I serve as the Associate Dean of Students and Director for Parent & Family Programs. I am truly honored to serve the Duke community in this capacity. Within my position I oversee our parent and family programs, on-call management and response team, off-campus student outreach and communications, and student veteran support among other responsibilities.

Hi parents and families! By the time you read this, I’ll have just completed my 45th year working in higher education, 17 as the Vice President for Student Affairs at Duke and the rest at five other universities. It’s impossible for me to recount all the changes that have transpired over these many years, especially since about half have been without the web, email and social media. But technological changes rank high among them as do the diversification and globalization of the student bodies and complexity of their needs.
