Diversity is a key component of the Duke community. The Duke student population evolves and changes every year to include a wider array of cultures, experiences, and abilities. The Duke Career Center is committed to ensuring that we are engaging with how diversity is part of our students’ lives and how it intersects with their career development and our employer partners’ needs.

Through the recruitment of diverse populations, organizations strengthen their competitive edge. A diverse workforce delivers an increase in innovation, customer relations, productivity, and employee retention. The Duke Career Center believes that it is our role to facilitate meaningful connections between our employer partners and our talented student body. By providing intentional programming and resources, the Career Center strives to create a valuable recruiting pipeline that celebrates inclusive excellence.

It is our pleasure to provide the following resources to assist with your diversity recruiting efforts.

Culture & Diversity Focused Student Organizations at Duke

Duke University offers over 800 student organizations that cover a wide area of interests, specialties, and events. These organizations provide students a way to explore career industries, gain leadership experience and develop teamwork skills. Some of our employers seek to work directly with student groups as a way to reach a targeted audience based on career interests, diversity initiatives, international/geographic preferences, or other focus areas. Likewise, student organizations may also reach out directly to employers in order to connect with alumni, invite expert speakers, and/or solicit sponsorship for events.

Employers can filter the DukeGroups database for Culture & Identity focused student organizations to find mission, current officers, and a contact link for each student group. There are many other filters available as well.

To assist, we have curated a list for you. (*denotes graduate student organizations)
Please note, organizations changes frequently. The most updated information will always be found in the DukeGroups database.
