In-Group Spaces

In-Group Spaces are a new program formed to provide a space for people holding similar identities to connect around those identities while meeting the changing needs and desires of the Duke student community. In-group spaces are the only programs of the CSGD that require students hold the identity to enter and participate in the space. Rather than being discussion based, in-group spaces have responded to student feedback and focus groups about our formerly held discussion groups. The in-group spaces will meet from 7pm-9pm in the evening twice a semester and will be student led. Every in-group space will feature food and a wide range of activities to engage people in an unstructured self-directed hangout space. The credenza in the front of the CSGD programming space is filled with various crafts and activities students can use. For the second in-group space the facilitator and attendees of the space have access to funds to organize the next gathering.
