Whether it’s a company event, a rehearsal dinner, or a completely unique party experience, we can help you plan and prepare an event that makes a lasting impression.
WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THE CHEF'S KITCHEN?
Expand your culinary abilities and follow along with a skilled chef or nutritionist to learn practical skills in meal preparation. We offer single-day classes as well as five consecutive week cooking courses. Our #GetCooking, is a culinary essentials class and is offered fall semester. Our #KeepCooking is a "next steps" cooking class based on the teachings of our fall semester class. However, you do not have to attend the #GetCooking to register for the #KeepCooking class. Once the links are active for the classes below registration will be open.
The Chef’s Kitchen #GetCooking course gives you the hands-on foundation of knowledge and skill to be confident to tackle cooking meals and entertaining on your own. In this course, you’ll develop knowledge of culinary methods techniques and the basics of cooking. This course will cover cooking topics including mise en place, kitchen safety, knife skills, stocks, soup, and sauce making. You will also learn and use a variety of dry and moist-heat cooking methods with an emphasis on healthy approaches to preparing meals.
#GetCooking is offered fall semester and is complete for fall 2019.
A next level cooking class with International Author and Instructor Caroline Bretherton, our #KeepCooking class builds upon our culinary essentials cooking class, #GetCooking, offered fall semester. However, you may attend this class even if you did not attend the first class. This course will move away from kitchen and cooking basics and will focus on specific recipes, meal types and baking.
#KeepCooking is offered spring semester and is complete for spring 2020.
Duke Dining invites local and/or renowned chefs to showcase their talents and culinary point-of-view. The first 16 students to sign in for these events will receive VIP seating and can participate in the hands-on demo. View past chef demo videos here!
Need more variety? Unexpected restaurants will be "popping up" for limited menu releases for lunch Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm!
