Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) helps Duke students enhance their strengths and learn to cope with the trials of living, growing, and learning. CAPS offers many services to Duke undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, including brief individual counseling/psychotherapy, consultation, couples and group counseling, and assistance with referrals. CAPS' staff also provide outreach education programs to student communities, promoting an empathic and supportive culture. Staff members are available for consultation with faculty concerning students or other matters relating to mental health in the university community. The CAPS staff includes psychologists, clinical social workers, and psychiatrists experienced in working with college-age adults. CAPS' staff carefully adhere to professional standards of ethics, privacy and confidentiality.
