New Students

First-Year Orientation

Welcome to Duke, Class of 2024!

New Student Orientation will consist of two parts designed to help you learn about Duke and build connections with your peers.

Part 1 (beginning July 27):  We will share video content that you can view whenever works best for you, which will highlight resources and key information to help you get started. Orientation Part 1 will also include more virtual opportunities for you to connect live with your peers and staff members from areas like Financial Aid, Identity and Cultural Centers, and many other places on campus.

Part 2 (August 10-16): Your orientation experience will continue with virtual sessions focused on academics, community building, health and wellness, diversity and inclusion and more. You will also participate in virtual live discussions in small groups. As you read in President Price's message from May 29, we are hoping to be able to offer some on-campus experiences for first-year residential students, but only if it can be done safely. We will continue to share any updates as soon as possible.
